Monthly meeting will be held at the Garden and Arts Building in Irving

The program for May will feature our own “Dynamic Duo” of Mike Dobie and Corbin Tayloe rebuilding a manual transmission. They did this program several years ago and was a big hit, so its time for an update and encore. Mike’s philosophy is automatic transmissions are simply a passing fancy and the only real transmission is a good ole four speed!

The program for June is timely because the CORSA International Convention is in July. So it’s time to get ready!

The program for June will be presented by Grand Master Concours Judge Mike Boyle. You will learn from Mike some of the secrets to score as high as possible in your particular class. He is always a firm believer in clean, clean, clean and more clean!!

April Activity 2024

On Saturday April 20th we will take a drive over to Ft. Worth and visit Triple F – a turnkey auto restoration shop who does the bumper-to-bumper restoration in house. We will tour their collection of cars for sale and see the shop.

Plan to arrive at 10:00 am. About noon we will head over to Hard Eight BBQ in Roanoke for Lunch.

John Martin has arranged for Tony Mitchell to join us and he will be giving a program on Meguiar’s car care products. This will help you get ready for local car shows or for the Corsa Convention in Dayton, Ohio in July. So be prepared to have your paint finish questions answered by Tony.

February Car Show at Texas Discovery Gardens at Fair Park

Let's start the new year off with a CAR SHOW!  

Texas Discovery Gardens at Fair Park is the place to be for Corvairs on February 17th.  It will run from 10am to 3pm.  There will be a restaurant selected for eating after the event TBD

If your car drives, bring it-  all Corvairs are welcome!  And even if your Corvair isn't ready for the road or you don't have a Corvair, bring your chairs, come out and enjoy the day. *

The Texas Discovery Gardens Butterfly house is a great place to explore too.  The show is free; Ask for Corvair group rate for entry to the Gardens and Butterfly house:  $10 for Adults, $6 for children 6-12.

NTCA Banquet

In January, we will start the year celebrating 2023.  Our annual banquet will be held in Highland Village with a delicious meal at Salerno’s on January 20th at 5pm.    They have prepared a special menu for us and you can select what you’d like at the dinner.  We are keeping the price at $25 per person for a member and guest.  The club will pick up the rest of the cost.  You need to sign up and pay by January 15th.  A bar is available for those who wish to purchase drinks.  We will have a special recap of 2023 and awards presented.  Please join us for an evening of fellowship and celebration.

NTCA has lined up a tour with a private car collection in Frisco TX.

Careington/DialCare Auto Museum, features a special showing of classic automobiles. The museum houses a remarkable collection of five dozen classic trucks and automobiles, which are typically only open to the general public a couple of times per year. They have graciously extended this viewing opportunity.

Careington's co-founder and chairman is an avid car collector who has amassed hundreds of vehicles over a lifetime. Donations to their foundation for this opportunity are appreciated.

We will meet at 10am at the museum-  November 18th 10am

Mark your calendars and polish your cars: NTCA will show off our Corvair’s at Nick Hockman’s Annual Car party in Irving, Texas.

This is a free event for active NTCA Club Members. But you have to register in advance! email you are attending to ntcaactivities@gmail.com OR use the Contact Us on this website to let us know you are coming. The event is open to non-members but you’ll have to pay admission!

Meet at the Albertson’s Parking lot at 10:30 AM - 2200 W. Shady Grove Road (SE Corner of Shady Grove and Story Road.) We will drive over together. If you attend the event in your Corvair but don't meet up to drive over, you may not be able to park in the group! Please bring chairs and any special beverages you may require. Food and beverages will be provided. If you were not able to sign up at the meeting, please email ntcaactivities@gmail.com or call Ray Morales at 847-254-1398 to confirm. The weather should be nice so come out and show off your Corvair!

September Event: #1 British Flight Training School Musuem and Lunch

Drive out to Terrell, TX on Saturday, September 23rd to learn about a little-known chapter of World War II history. Meet at 10am in the east side parking lot of Buc-ee’s in Terrell. We will make the short drive to the museum leaving at 10:15. The musuem is located at 119 Silent Wings Blvd. Terrell, TX 75160

After a tour of the musuem, we will meet for lunch at the home of Jeannette and Ray Morales in Sunnyvale.

Learn more about the museum: During World War II thousands of British cadets learned to fly at six civilian training schools across the southern United States. The first and largest of the schools was in Terrell, Texas. More than 2,200 Royal Air Force and United States Army Air Corps cadets earned their wings over North Texas between 1941 and 1945.

The museum celebrates this little-known chapter of World War II history with an archive that contains the most extensive record of the No. 1 British Flying Training Schools in existence.

June Monthly Meeting and Parking lot Corvair Clinic program

Join NTCA for the June Monthly Meeting at the Senter East Recreation Center. 2-4:30 PM

The club will hold the regular business meeting from 2:00- approx. 2;30. .

The program will feature a Parking Lot Corvair Clinic program for ALL Corvairs in the North Texas area! This well be from 2:3- - 4:30 Bring your car and take to the experts. Or come and talk to the experts about how to get and keep your car on the road. Have your questions answered from people who own and drive Corvairs! Refreshments will be served.

There will be no “wrench turning” in the parking lot but you’ll have fun and learn.

May Monthly event: Christian Classic Cruisers Car Show

Time to show up and show off those Corvairs! NTCA will be the featured club at the Christian Classic Cruisers Car show on May 20th. Keller Trophy and Awards is the event sponsor. They do a lot for NTCA and we are proud to be there with them.

Location is the Parking lot of the Birdville ISD Fine Arts Complex and Stadium, 9200 Mid Cities Blvd, North Richland Hills. Admission to the show will be paid by the club for current members. All others pay $20 entry.

Join us for an early dinner at 3PM at Italianni Restaurant, 1601 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, TX 76054 Restaurant is 1.5 miles from the car show.

NTCA Parts Auction

Looking for that rare part? Have a stash you are not using? Get those parts ready! The NTCA Parts Auction is happening. Come for great Corvair parts at great prices. Members can buy and sell parts. Non-club members are welcome to come and purchase parts.

Location: Dallas Makerspace Parking lot, 1825 Monetary Ln Ste 104, Carrollton, TX 75006

Times: Set up begins at 8am. Auction will begin at 9:30 and end when the parts are gone or 5pm. with a break for lunch at mid day. Lunch can be purchased from local businesses. Tents will be provided but Sellers need to bring their own tables to display the auction items.

Rain date: April 22nd, same location

Cash, Check or Venmo payments accepted

Sellers receive 90% of auction sale price.

Pickle Parade March 18th Activity- Join drive or watch the parade! Or come for lunch after- CHANGE IN LOCATION for lunch- see below

We’ll meet at 9:30 in the parking lot of the Hobby Lobby at 122 Hwy. 287 south in Mansfield. Take the E. Board St. exit. (the time changed!)

To drive in the parade, you must sign up in advance! Cars riding in the parade must meet at the Hobby Lobby parking lot. We must enter the staging area as a group. I will have maps and directions with me Saturday morning. We depart for the staging at 9:45AM “SHARP”. Again, we must go in as a group. We’ll return to this parking lot after the parade to pick up any cars that were le ft there. Once in the staging area we’ll decorate the vehicles. The club has some decorations, but If you have any St Paddy’s Day decorations, please use them. We will have water available, but you might want to bring a snack to hold you until after the parade.

The parade vehicle drivers must have their drivers license and insurance card with them. anyone participating in the parade must sign a waiver. Anyone in the parade 18 years old or younger will have to sign a waiver signed by a guardian. I’ll have the waiver forms with me.

After the parade we will have a late lunch at 2pm at El Arroyo Tex Mex, 5024 S. Cooper St. in Arlington.

Feburary Event: Cars and Brunch at The Shop

A “country club for gearheads”, The Shop is an exclusive member only facility for car storage and repair.  A few years ago, we took a tour of The Shop.  Now we get to show off our cars in their lot outside where there will be spaces for ours.  We want to see all Corvairs- if they drive, bring ‘em.   

If you are bringing a car, please arrive by 10:30 to position cars in the lot by 11am. Only cars that have signed up will be on the lot.

Sign up for the show and lunch is required and will be at the February Meeting or contact ntcaactivities@gmail.com or Ray Morales before February 13th.  Let’s have a big showing of Corvairs.
